On the Syntax and Semantics of Local Anaphors in French and English
Résumé
Local anaphors in French and in English have a variety of lexical and morphological properties that are unexpected on the conventional approaches to Binding Theory. We propose an account in which these characteristics which involve part-wole relationship between the anaphora and its antecdent follow from the fact that reflexives are essentially pronominals without phi-features (without number features in particular).
