A survey of stochastic models for modelling of patient flow
Résumé
This paper provides a survey of stochastic models in health care delivery systems from 1998 to 2007. It focuses on applications of analytical methods (Markov chains, compartmental models, queuing theory) or a combination of analytical methods and simulation. The aim of this paper is to show how each of these methods is used in the literature for modelling and analysing patient flow in a health care system.
