Theoretical analysis of a semiconductor optical amplifier based multi-stage wavelength converter

Résumé

We theoretically study how to shorten gain recovery time of a semiconductor optical amplifier based multi-stage wavelength converter, while keeping a low level of noise. A 40 Gbit/s NRZ sequence extinction ratio can be improved.
