Size-induced structural modifications affecting Co3O4 nanoparticles patterned in SBA-15 silicas

The structure of Co3O4 nanoparticles patterned in SBA-15 silicas is studied. With pore size of 7.3 nm, bundles of oriented particles, with (400) plane parallel to the hexagonal axis, is revealed by HR-TEM. With decreasing pore sizes, structural modifications, suggested by HR-TEM are confirmed by XRD and Raman measurements.
