On the elastic-plastic initial-boundary value problem and its numerical integration

An iterative method is proposed for the numerical analysis of an elastic-plastic solid. This method gives after convergence an implicit scheme of integration of the elastic plastic response. It can be applied in perfect plasticity as in hardening plasticity. The proof of convergence is given under the assumption of positive gardening for the generalized standard materials. Some numerical examples by the finite element method are given.
