Phase diagram of a quarter filled ladder
Résumé
We investigate the ground-state phase diagram and the elementary excitations of the quarter filled two-leg Hubbard ladder with interchain Coulomb repulsion V and exchange coupling J using bosonization and renormalization group approaches focusing on the regime of strong repulsion in which the system is insulating. Due to the presence of a spin gap, the competing ground states are bond-order density wave states and charge density wave states.
