Welcome to the Génomique et Biotechnologie des Fruit HAL collection
The making of fruits comprises three distinct stages known as fruit set, growth and maturation and in this regard, it offers a unique example of a series of developmental shifts tightly regulated by intricate signaling pathways that still remain poorly understood. The GBF research project aims to decipher the factors and mechanisms underlying the control fruit set, fruit ripening and flesh tissue differentiation. Elucidating the mechanisms underpinning fruit setting is fundamental to our understanding of reproductive biology and is essential for designing new approaches to improve crop yield and fruit quality in the face of climate change. Likewise, fruit ripening is of prime importance as most sensory and nutritional quality traits take place during this ultimate phase of fruit development.
