Fluid Mechanics at Interfaces - 2 cases study and instabilities

Résumé

The achievement of the general objectives of the Systems and Engineering OpenScience e-journalThermodynamics of interfaces and fluid mechanics1is partly concretized inthe series“Fluid Mechanics at Interfaces".Volume 2 of this work on Fluid Mechanics at Interfaces -subtitled "case study and instabilities" -is devoted to different kinds of interfaces and flow regimes in their vicinity. In this volume, we considercases of one-, two-, or three -dimensional manifold, in gaseous and liquid physical states, in supercritical fluids, in single or multiphase, pure or mixtures. The chapters are, in order: Chapter 1 (J.-P. Caltagirone & S. Vincent). Some aspects of turbulence in discrete mechanics: the discrete mechanics formalism and equations are considered in the present work in order to establish the role played by representative motion equations on the study of turbulence in fluids .Chapter 2 (R. Prud'homme) titled 'Atomization under an acceleration field', concerns liquid injection jets in gas streams. Here, an instability of Kelvin-Helmholtz generates an acceleration field source of digitations of type Rayleigh-Taylor leading to droplet formation, whose size distribution allows to predict the evolution of the sprays obtained. Chapter 3 (T. Chakkour).Numerical Simulations of Tubes with Abrupt Contraction on OpenFoam:chapter concerns a model useful for engines and motor vehicles, combining models with 1D / 3D coupling and showing zones with strong gradients. Chapter 4 (R. Prud'homme & K. Anani).Vaporization of an equivalent pastille:the evaporation of drops subjected to HF disturbancesisa possible cause of instabilities in injection engines. The Heidmann model, replacing the moving droplets in the combustion chamber with a single fed drop, is used.It iscomplexified by consideringafinite conduction heat transfer. Chapter 5 (R. Prud'homme, K. Anani, M.N. Hounkonnou).Thermal field of a fed drop subjected to HF disturbances:we are interested on the one hand in the temperature field in the drop, on the other hand in the response factor to the high frequency pressure field created by the motor. A drop in pastillemodel, replacing the spherical drop, makes it possible to go further in linearized calculations.Chapter 6 (F. Raveloson, D. Tomboravo, R. Vony).Study of the flow three-dimensional and unsteady in a rotor of the Savonius wind turbine:the interface here is the surface of the rotor blades of a Savonius wind turbine. We are studying a three-dimensional and unsteady flow
